In September 2023, a MoU was signed between Almazov Centre and the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Centre for Obstetrics and Gynecology of Uzbekistan.
As part of this project, 12 specialists from the Republican Centre and its regional branches were trained at Almazov Centre from 30 October to 11 November.
Advanced training of Uzbek specialists in the best foreign medical centres is envisaged by the state health care policy. This gives an opportunity to effectively master the best foreign experience, innovative methods with subsequent introduction of modern technologies in all regions of Uzbekistan.
« Almazov Centre specializes in the treatment of pregnant women with cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus and endocrine disorders. The exchange of experience and knowledge with specialists from Uzbekistan is aimed at introducing advanced technologies in the management of such patients, increasing women's satisfaction with the medical care they receive», explained Professor Irina Zazerskaya, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology with Clinic, Institute of Medical Education.
During the course, trainees learned about modern technologies for diagnosing, preventing and treating obstetric conditions and complications in women at risk. The new knowledge will improve the quality of medical care in pregnancy and childbirth and reduce maternal and perinatal mortality.
In addition, cooperation has been established to organize joint research, telemedicine, internships and visits of Russian specialists to Uzbekistan.
