The 18th World Congress of Neurosurgery (WFNS 2023) took place in Cape Town, South Africa from 4 to 8 December 2023.
The congress brought together thousands of neurosurgeons from around the world to share experience while educating and inspiring the next generation.
The WFNS programme covered everything from advances in artificial intelligence to microsurgical techniques, ethical issues and how to engage with society.
The Almazov Centre was represented at the event by doctors from the Department of Neurosurgery – Artem Paltsev, Head of the Department, and neurosurgeon Roman Kovalenko.
They presented 4 posters and one oral presentation. The presentations focused on the experience of online education during the pandemic, the peculiarities of the work of female neurosurgeons in Russia, and the application of 3D printing technologies in spinal surgery.
