Health Day at the Russia International Exhibition and Forum provided a platform for sharing best practice and knowledge, showcasing the achievements of regions, public and political organizations, business and government. The highlight of the Health Day was a plenary session with the industry's flagship speakers, who gave presentations on the results they had achieved.
The opening ceremony of the Health Day began with an exercise routine performed by Irina Slutskaya, Honored Master of Sports of Russia, Member of the Public Council at the Russian Ministry of Sports.
Then, Mikhail Murashko, Russian Minister of Health, and Inna Svyatenko, Chair of the Social Policy Committee of the Federation Council, welcomed the guests.
The activities of the Sberbank Pavilion featured a session entitled «Using AI Technologies in Healthcare». Participants included the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Moscow City Health Department, Almazov National Medical Research Centre, Blokhin National Medical Research Centre of Oncology, Sberbank, SberZdorovye, SberMedII, Medical Screening Systems LLC, K-Sky LLC.
Evgeny Shlyakhto, Director General of Almazov Centre, presented the successfully launched project to create the Centre for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine at the institution, which is a unique combination of digital technologies and services from Sber and partner companies, the experience of doctors and the competence of the largest research and medical institution of the Russian Federation. It aims to improve patient management by introducing effective, proven solutions and artificial intelligence (AI) models into clinical practice.
«The synergistic effect from the introduction of AI technologies can only be achieved by implementing them in all end-to-end clinical processes, avoiding fragmentation of medical care for a given patient, increasing the effectiveness of treatment and changing the paradigm of medical care with an emphasis on personalized approach, value and proactivity,» said Evgeny Shlyakhto.
Dmitry Kurapeev, Deputy Director General for Information Technology and Project Management at Almazov Centre, gave a presentation entitled «Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare: Reality and Prospects» at the expert panel on the Implementation of the Medical Science for Humanity.
“Large Language Models (LLMs): enable a wide range of healthcare applications, including natural language processing, text generation, context understanding, video and image generation, speech recognition, and audio creation and processing. Our centre is currently working with Sber to train the GigaChat large language model in medical knowledge, and as early as 2024, the GigaChat healthcare domain will be ready to create a wide range of applications for patients, medical professionals and medical students,” he said.
