Museum
On 27 May 2011, Vladimir Almazov, the founder and the first director of the Almazov Centre, Academician of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, could have celebrated his 80th birthday. On 19 May 2011, the Centre’s museum was inaugurated as part of the commemorative activities to mark the 80th anniversary.
Today, this is not just a museum dedicated to the life and work of the great scientist but also a monofunctional space presenting the Almazov Centre as a modern research facility. The museum’s exhibition featuring a photo chronicle illustrates scientific, social and educational activities of academician Almazov. Currently, the museum's collection includes more than 500 attributed items and more than 1,000 items stocked in the auxiliary fund.
