Newly developed and implemented technologies
The researcher of the Laboratory Maria Pospelova developed and implemented a new medical technology “A treatment method for patients with ischemic cerebrovascular diseases”. When leech therapy is used in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular diseases, 1 to 4 additional procedures are performed by placing 2-6 leeches on the following areas: in the region of the liver, spleen and perianal region.
To reduce the manifestations of anxiety and depression, one procedure is performed by placing 4 to 5 leeches per area around the navel. The technical result achieved by the invention is to normalize all indicators of the platelet function and reduce the risk of thrombosis.
International collaboration
The Research Laboratory of Neurology and Neurorehabilitation takes part in the international project “The Global COVID-19 Stroke Registry” accumulating descriptive and laboratory data of stroke patients with COVID-19 infection.
