Tests and procedures

Almazov Centre has four state-of-the-art multislice CT scanners:

Siemens Somatom Definition (128 slices) at the Main Clinical Complex (2 Akkuratova street)
two Philips Ingenuity Elite CT scanners (128 slices) at the Rehabilitation Clinic (15 Parkhomenko street) and Polenov Neurosurgical Institute (12 Mayakovskogo street)
Philips Ingenuity Elite (128 slices) at the Children’s Rehabilitation Clinic (21 Kolomyazhsky street)

Almazov Centre has two MRI machines:

Siemens Magnetom Trio A Tim 3.0T MRI scanner for ultra-high field imaging at the Main Clinical Complex (2 Akkuratova street)
Siemens Magnetom Espree 1.5T MRI scanner at the Perinatal Centre (2 Akkuratova street) and Polenov Neurosurgical Institute

Radioisotope scanning and positron emission tomography (PET/CT)

Radioisotope scanning is a modern imaging technique based on the use of radionuclide-labeled chemical compounds. This method differs from other diagnostic imaging services such as ultrasound, X-ray, CT and MRI in that it is able to assess the functional state of organs and tissues, cell metabolism and receptor status.

Laboratory tests

The Laboratory is fitted with state-of-the-art equipment of the world's leading manufacturers. The use of automated analyzers ABBOTT, Roсhe, Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Becton Dickinson and original reagents ensures the highest level of performance for the best possible results.

Functional diagnostics

The Functional Diagnostics Department is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities and has a dedicated team of experienced and highly qualified diagnosticians.

X-ray

X-ray departments of the Main Clinical Complex, Rehabilitation Clinic, Perinatal Centre, Children’s Rehabilitation Clinic and Polenov Neurosurgical Institute are equipped with state-of-the-art digital X-ray machines to ensure the highest level of diagnostic service for patients. Digital X-rays produce a significantly lower level of radiation compared to traditional non-digital X-rays, which is especially important in pediatric imaging.

Endoscopy

Endoscopy is the primary diagnostic modality enabling the direct visualization of gastrointestinal tract. This procedure provides better diagnostic performance as compared to indirect visualization (e.g. by X-ray).
