1991 – graduated from the Pavlov First Saint Petersburg State Medical University in General Medicine, 1993 – clinical residency in Therapy.
1996 – graduated from full-time PhD programme, from 2003 to 2006 studied at the doctoral programme at Faculty Therapy Chair of the Pavlov First Saint Petersburg State Medical University.
For 14 years, Dr. Bolshakova worked as an assistant and then as an assistant professor at the Faculty Therapy Chair with Endocrinology Course at the Pavlov First Saint Petersburg State Medical University, and in 2010 received the Professor title.
Professor Bolshakova teaches a full course in Internal Medicine for 4-6th year students (both in Russian and English).
Since 2010, Olga Bolshakova has been the Head of the Department for Clinical Trials and Evidence-Based Medicine, since 2013 – Professor of Internal Medicine Chair of the Medical Education Institute of Almazov National Medical Research Centre.
Research areas
In 1996, Olga Bolshakova defended her PhD thesis in Cardiology on the topic “Some features of sodium metabolism in women with essential hypertension” in the Specialized Council of the Pavlov First Saint Petersburg State Medical University.
In 2006, she defended her DSc thesis on the topic “Hypertension in postmenopausal women. Genetic and pathogenetic aspects, antihypertensive and hormone replacement therapy”.
