Methods of remote interaction, especially between regional doctors and experts from federal centres, play an important role in establishing and improving medical care for the population of new regions. Despite the high level of professionalism and heroic efforts of doctors in the new regions, severe cases often require the involvement of specialists from Almazov Centre in the local management of patients and, in some cases, transport to provide high-tech care. The most sought-after consultations are for patients with severe and rare forms of cardiovascular disease, pregnant women with cardiovascular conditions and children with heart defects. Each case is unique and requires the involvement of regional experts from Almazov Centre, and sometimes other Federal Medical Centres of Russia. In 2023, 385 patients were consulted at Almazov Centre and 231 patients were hospitalized at Almazov Centre, most of whom underwent complex and sometimes unique surgeries, including heart transplants.
