On December 3, 2013 in Federal Almazov Centre there was a joint meeting of Saint-Petersburg Chamber of Commerce Presidium and Scientific Council of Federal Almazov Medical Research Centre.
Co-Chairs of the meeting were President of St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce Vladimir Katenev, Chairman of St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce Sergey Alekseev and Director of Federal Almazov Medical Research Centre Evgeny Shlyakhto.
The meeting purpose was discussion of interdisciplinary scientific and innovative framework formation aimed at integration and concentration of intellectual and material resources for innovations in health care.
The agenda covered several issues. Evgeny Shlyakhto presented the lecture “Translational researches in Almazov Federal Centre — from basic science to clinical practice”. The participants also discussed the prospects of cooperation between enterprises of St. Petersburg and Federal Almazov Medical Research Centre in the development, production and use of modern domestic medical technology and equipment. This issue was thoroughly aired by the Director of Institute of Experimental Medicine of Almazov Federal Centre Dr. M. M. Galagudza, Deputy Scientific Director of Almazov Federal Centre Professor A. O. Konradi, and President of Association of Medical Industry of North-West Russia, Chairman of the medical industry and biotechnology committee of St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce V. A. Vorogushin. Besides, investment projects of Almazov Federal Medical Research Centre were presented by the Head of Information Technology Department PhD D. I. Kurapeev and Almazov Federal Centre Biobank Head Dr. S. V. Anisimov.
The meeting allowed to plan the implementation of scientific research and development activities of the Centre in production and its subsequent commercialization.
